CHARLOTTE – The Big South Conference announced the seeds for the upcoming 2024 Big South Women's Tennis Championships on Tuesday morning. The Charleston Southern Buccaneers earned the #2 seed in the bracket and will take on #3 Gardner-Webb on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Charlotte at Marion Diehl Park.
 
The Buccaneers finished their conference schedule with a record of 4-1 taking down Gardner-Webb, Radford, Longwood and Presbyterian all by decisive scorelines. Their lone loss of the year came against UNC Asheville by a final score of 4-3 on March 24. The victory paved the way for the Bulldogs to go unblemished in the league schedule, earn the Regular Season Title and #1 seed for the conference tournament.
 
The semifinals for the Big South Championships will begin on Friday morning with #1 UNC Asheville taking on #4 Radford at 11:00 a.m. This will be followed by #2 Charleston Southern against #3 Gardner-Webb at 2:00 p.m. The winners of the matchups will meet on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with the winner punching their ticket to the NCAA Tournament via the conference's automatic bid.
 
Charleston Southern enters the weekend looking to claim their fourth consecutive tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. In the Tournament, the Bucs are 5-1 all-time against the Runnin' Bulldogs and have won each of the past five matchups in the championship against GWU. Charleston Southern has been the team to eliminate Gardner-Webb in the past three tournaments. The Buccaneers knocked them out in the semifinals in 2021 and 2023 and then the finals in 2022.
