CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Buccaneer women's track and field team closed the book on their 2025 regular season on Saturday at the Charlotte Invitational. At the meet, there were four new #2 all-time marks in school history recorded during the weekend's action.
 
Austyn Koppe highlighted the Buccaneers weekend in the return to her home city, Charlotte. She took sixth overall in the 100m hurdles with her personal best time of 13.46. The time moves her closer to the school record for the event, keeping her in second place in CSU history for the event but jumps her to seventh in conference history. Maeva Tahou, Chloe Maé Wilks and Brenda du Toit each ran in the event as well and had times of 14.04, 14.22 and 14.79.
 
Grenisha Thomas had a tremendous day in the 100m dash with her new personal best time of 11.86. She took ninth overall in the field and moves into solo ninth in program history for the event. Nourhan Hassan was right behind her at 10^th at the meet with an 11.95.
 
Caroline Aslerin was the lone Buccaneer in the 400m and had a 57.09. Maddie St. Louis was the team's top finisher in the 200m and had a time of 25.07. Sophia Cupp and Wilks had times of 25.52 and 26.21 in the race.
 
Some of the top performers of the week included those from the Buccaneers' distance crew. Freya Buglass ran a new #2 time in school history for the 800m with her personal best of 2:09.86. Charlize Antia also had a great showing with her personal best of 2:16.11 in the event for the new #7 in program history.
 
In the 1500m, Sarah McCartney was the squad's top finisher and had a time of 4:28.70 for the new second-best performance in CSU history. Antia also raced in it and had a 4:34.54 for the new fifth best time in school history. Sarah Jacob also ran in it and went 4:50.31.
 
Taylar White rounded out the group's performances with her 10:56.79 to win the 3K steeplechase and run the #2 time in program history for the event.
 
Charleston Southern had a pair of 4x400m relay teams run at the meet as well as a 4x100m. The A team of Thomas, St. Louis, du Toit and Aslerin for the 4x400m was just off their season best time with a 3:39.91 on the day while the B team had a 3:50.77 which included Cupp, Tahou, Koppe and Hassan. The 4x100m squad of Tahou, Thomas, Koppe and Hassan ran a season best of 46.38.
 
The Bucs also fielded Tahou and Thomas in the long jump and they turned in marks of 5.54m and 5.24m. Tahou's marked an outdoor personal best.
 
Josaphine Ankney highlighted the throwers at the meet with her seventh place finish in the shot put. She threw an outdoor personal best with a 13.26m for 10^th in school history in the event. She and Avah Morrison both threw the discus with Morrison having the slightly better mark of 39.93m with Ankney having 39.16m. Alayna Abrams competed in the hammer throw and shot put with her marks of 38.32m and 12.45m. Amelia Stembridge threw in the javelin and finished with a day's best of 36.82m.
 
Charleston Southern will now put together their final preparations for the Big South Championships. This year, the meet will be held at UNC Asheville from Monday, May 12 through Wednesday, May 14.
