Trea Steele

2012: Appeared in 39 games, starting 30 (22 – 2B, 7 – DH, 1 – SS)…smacked four of her 13 hits for extra bases (all doubles)…went 1-for-3 with two-run double in loss to Kennesaw State during College of Charleston Classic on 2/17…went 1-for-3 with two-run single as CSU downed UMB C on 2/25…went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in CSU’s loss at Coastal Carolina on 3/28.

2011: Saw action in 57 games, making 56 starts at second base… hit .255 (39-for-153) with five doubles, one triple, two home runs, 18 runs scored and 16 RBI… had .352 on base percentage, with 17 walks and six times hit by pitch… placed second on team with five sacrifice bunts… recorded 97 assists, good for third on team and was fourth with 114 putouts… registered .369 on base percentage and .986 fielding percentage in Conference play… recorded two walk-off hits, driving in game-winning run in ninth inning of 10-9 win over Virginia Tech and ending run-rule win over Coastal Carolina… had multiple hits in back-to-back games on three occasions… posted team-best four-hit game Feb. 26 at Stetson... posted nine multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI contests… went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI vs. Virginia Tech.. drove in three runs vs. Bethune-Cookman.

2010: Competed in 53 games, earning the start at second base each time as a freshman… batted .286 (40-for-140) with seven doubles, three home runs, 16 RBI and 24 runs scored…  walked 15 times, third on team, and hit by pitch twice, giving her a .363 OBP… fifth on team in batting average, runs scored, and on-base percentage… posted team-best nine game hitting streak from March 14 vs. Virginia Tech through March 27 at Radford… third on team with 73 assists… registered multiple hits in eight games… earned first career hit and RBI in 2-for-4 outing vs. Furman Feb. 12… went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three runs scored during double-header vs. Howard May 6… belted first career home run March 28 at Radford, part of 2-for-3 performance… batted .289 in Big South play… recorded hits in two out of three conference tournament contests. 

High School:  Played at Esperanza High School under Coach Ed Tunstall… was named OC Player of the Week during the 2009 season… also received 2nd Team All-League honors in 2009… won the Sunset League during the 2008 season… three time letter winner in softball.

Personal:  Daughter of Dennis and Taran Steele… born on February 21, 1991, in Yorba Linda, Calif. … will major in kinesiology at CSU and plans to pursue physical therapy.
