Jasmine Nieman #8Position: OH/L Ht.: 5-5 Hometown: Charlotte, N.C. Previous School: Covenant Classic HS Eligibility: So. Major: 2011: Saw action in five matches as a freshman, playing in eight sets for CSU…Finished the season with one kill and one set assists…Added one dig as a freshman. High School: Competed at Covenant Classical School, where she was coached by her mother, Donna Nieman. She was honored as an NCSAA All-American in 2009, and has been a three-time All-Conference selection. Nieman was tabbed as the PAC Offensive Player of the Year in as a sophomore, and was voted PAC MVP for the 2009 season. Her high school team earned academic honors from the AVCA. Nieman played club volleyball for the Carolina Storm, where the team went 18-5-1 under Michelle Phillips. She also competed in basketball and soccer at Covenant. The Charlotte product excels academically, receiving a chemistry award in 2010 and earning Honor Roll status all four years of high school. Charleston Southern sophomore Bobby Ison has been named this week’s CSU Student-Athlete of the Week following his performance for the Buccaneers against Radford, Savannah State and USC Upstate this past weekend.
