2012: Named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American for his efforts…also earned a spot on the All-Big South Second Team…led the team in batting (.344 average), RBI (29) and doubles (13), while tying for club-lead in home runs (4)…also scored 29 runs, had 65 hits, a triple, a .487 slugging percentage and an even .400 on-base percentage…went 3-for-4 with a double in loss to Georgia Southern on March 6…went 3-for-5 in loss to Rider on March 9…went 2-for-2 with a walk, 2 RBI, and two runs scored in win over Rider on March 10…went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in loss at South Carolina on March 13…cracked a two-run single in win over Penn on March 17…went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored in loss to High Point on March 24.

High School: Played for Brookland-Cayce High School in Columbia… Head coach was Brian Hucks..  Hit .462 as a senior with 10 home runs… Named to the All-State and All-Region teams… Also played basketball as a freshman and sophomore.

Personal: Birthday is January 24, 1993… Parents are Kit Shelton and Chad Shelton.
