Kevin O’Rourke enters his second season as a sports information assistant at CSU, and serves as the main media contact for men’s basketball, softball, and tennis. He is also in his second year as the radio voice of the Bucs, broadcasting basketball and football games, as well as weekly coach’s shows, on the Kirkman Broadcasting family of networks. O’Rourke joined the Bucs after spending the 2011 season as the Assistant Director of Media Relations for the Charleston RiverDogs, the Class-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. While with the RiverDogs, he updated the media guide, compiled daily game notes, game recaps, and press releases, and conducted interviews for the team’s website and smart phone application. In addition, O’Rourke contributed content and ensured the production of the monthly program and homestand news publications. A native of Staten Island, New York by way of Brielle, New Jersey, O’Rourke graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies/History from Rutgers University in 2010. As a student, he called play-by-play for Rutgers sports on the student-radio station and covered several Olympic sports for the school’s daily newspaper. He also completed a production/news internship at SportsNet New York (SNY), the official network of the New York Mets and the Big East Conference. |
