CSU (20-19, 9-6 Big South) welcomes the Eagles this weekend and The Citadel on Tuesday before taking an eight-day break for exams. The Buccaneers have won eight of their last nine games and are coming off of back-to-back sweep in conference play for only the second time in program history.
"We've got six left at home and three on the road," CSU head coach Stuart Lake said. "This is a big weekend for us to keep momentum going. We have a chance to make a move toward the leaders in the conference and prove we're on of the best teams in a very good league. Hopefully we'll have a lot of people come out and watch us face a very good Winthrop team."
The Bucs are tied for fourth in the Big South standings, tied with High Point at 9-6, two games ahead of Winthrop. CSU still faces conference leader Radford and can still play its way into the mix for a Big South title.

The Bucs are holding teams to a .245 batting average in conference play, third-best in the league. Following his record-setting week, Chase Shelton has seen his average climb to .379 in conference play, tied for eighth in the league.
CSU will go with the same starting rotation for the sixth straight weekend, and with good reason. RHP Kyle McDorman is third in conference play with a .186 opponent batting average.

Senior third baseman Brad Kazca leads WU and is second in the Big South with a .373 average and 57 hits. Four Eagles are in the top 10 in the conference in batting.
The Eagles have won eight-in-a-row including a three-game sweep of Asheville last weekend.
