Campbell (32-24) advances to face the loser of No. 2 Coastal Carolina and No. 3 Winthrop on Thursday. CSU seasons ends at 23-30.
CSU managed only six hits, tying the game at 1-1 on an RBI single by Andre Widell in the second inning. The Bucs could not get the big hit hit they needed to spark the offense in the tournament.
"We were better offensively this year than we showed in this tournament and the last few weeks of the season," CSU head coach Stuart Lake said. "It's a disappointing end, but I'm very proud of this group of seniors. They've made CSU Baseball a better program."
Murphy and Widell had two hits apiece for the Bucs. Robbie Street had a single in his final CSU at-bat.
CU hit a pair of early home runs off Bucs' starter Andrew Tomasovich (L, 7-7) to build an early 2-1 lead. Leady and Brian Taylor both hit solo shots to left field to answer CSU's early offense. Tomasovich pitched 4.1 innings and surrendered four earned runs.
Campbell added a run to pad its lead in the fourth. The Camels loaded the bases on a walk and a pair of singles. Bucs' third baseman Nate Blanchard couldn't come up with a ground ball by Anthony Lopez at third, allowing Kyle Leady to race home with the unearned run.
Four hits in the fifth led to four more Camel runs to build a 7-1 lead and settle in behind their starter Nick Thayer (W, 7-5). He worked six innings and held the Bucs to three hits. Nathan Arp worked three innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first save.
