Plan for Singleton Baseball Complex gains momentum
June 17, 2016CHARLESTON -- As CSU commemorates the one-year anniversary of the AME tragedy and remembers the loss of a member of the CSU family, fundraising is currently underway for the Singleton Baseball Complex featuring a two-story 3,500-square-foot building, a memorial plaza and a stadium courtyard. The first floor of the complex will house a locker room, a training room and the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Enrichment Center. The head coaches office and conference space for team personnel will be located on the second floor. -
Raynor and Ministeri sign Frontier League contracts
June 16, 2016CHARLESTON, S.C. – Former Charleston Southern pitchers Evan Raynor and Alex Ministeri have signed contracts with the Independent League. Raynor signed earlier this week with the Lake Erie Crushers and Ministeri has signed to play for the Southern Illinois Miners. Both teams are part of the Frontier League. -
Singleton recognized with Charleston RiverDogs' Humanitarian Award
June 12, 2016CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern rising junior Chris Singleton was recognized with the Charleston RiverDogs' Humanitarian Award during Saturday's game at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The award recognizes individuals who dedicate their time to fighting indifference, intolerance and social injustice and whose approaches and accomplishments are consistent with the club’s goals and mission to better the Charleston community. -

Former Buc R.J. Swindle named finalist for Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2016
June 01, 2016CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern alumnus and former big-leaguer R.J. Swindle has been named one of seven candidates for the Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2016. Fans can vote online via the link HERE, and on RiverDogs.com. Official ballots are also available at Riley Park, with voting concluding on Friday, July 21. The top two vote-getters will be inducted prior to the RiverDogs’ August 5th home game. -

Senior infielder Kevin Hickey earned Second-Team All-Big South honors as a utility player, classmate Sly Edwards garnered Honorable Mention All-Conference honors, and sophomore pitcher Daniel Johnson was selected to the All-Academic Team. -
