Bucs open three-game series with Butler on Friday at Joe Riley Park

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern returns to action on Friday with a three-game series at Joe Riley Park against Butler. Game times have been shifted again from their original slot to 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and a 10 a.m. start on Sunday.

Both of the Bucs' midweek games were washed out by heavy rain and high winds in-and-out of the Charleston area, so CSU (1-2) is seeing its first action since Sunday.

CSU ace Evan Raynor (1-0) held West Virginia to a solo home run over six innings and Chris Singleton had three RBIs to push CSU past the Mountaineers in its season opener, 4-3. WVU would go on to win the final two games of the series.

Raynor wasn't the only Buc starter who turned in a quality start. Jon Piriz took the loss on Sunday, but held WVU to six hits and an earned run in 5.1 innings on Sunday, striking out three. Both Evan Nations and Alex Ministeri gave the Bucs lengthy, scoreless appearances out of the bullpen.
