Charleston, S.C. - Campbell demonstrated their offensive ability on Saturday afternoon as Charleston Southern fell in the second game of the weekend series against the Camels at the CSU Ballpark, 18-2.
The Camels looked unstoppable from the plate as they collected 21 hits including five doubles and six home runs. Two home runs in the first inning set the pace for this game with Campbell going on to score 12 of their 18 runs off of home runs.
CSU had trouble stringing hits together, but they finally managed to do so in the seventh inning. Derek Horton pinch hit and drove a ball over the scoreboard in left field for a solo home run. Mike Sconzo later drove home Josh Asbill to plate the Bucs' second run of the day.
Michael Horrell (3-1) picked up the win for Campbell. He threw five scoreless innings with four hits, four walks, and struck out two.
Ryan Stroudemire (0-4) took the loss for CSU, pitching two and two thirds innings with eight hits, six runs, no walks, and no strikeouts.
