Boiling Springs, N.C. - Seven runs in the final two innings propelled Charleston Southern (17-32, 8-16) to a 7-2 win over Gardner-Webb (27-24,12-12) on Sunday to take the weekend series.
Trailing 2-0 in the eighth inning, the Bucs put two on base for Kyle Vesnesky, who singled to score a run. The next batter, Ryan Stoudemire, hit a home run to left field that gave CSU a 4-2 lead. In the ninth, Stoudemire came to bat again with two on, and again, he homered to left field to drive in three runs and push CSU out to a 7-2 lead.
A two-run home run allowed Gardner-Webb to score first in the game. The two teams combined for just three hits through the first four innings. Cody Maw made a strong start allowing two runs through five and two-thirds innings.
Wil Hartsell (2-4) got the win for CSU. He worked two and two-thirds scoreless innings with one hit and four strikeouts.
Wil Sellers (4-2) took the loss for Gardner-Webb. He pitched two innings and allowed five runs on six hits and one strikeout.

- Stoudemire had the first two-home run game for any CSU hitter this year.
- Three CSU pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts, marking the 19th double-digit strikeout game of the year.
- Wil Hartsell made his 26th appearance on the mound today which gives him the conference lead.
- The Bucs are now tied with Longwood and Presbyterian with an 8-16 conference record. Presbyterian won their series with CSU and Longwood and CSU won their series with Longwood. If the season ended today, CSU would be the eighth seed in the Big South conference Tournament.
CSU will hit the road for their final midweek game on Tuesday when they travel to Georgia Southern. First pitch for Tuesday's game is set for 6 p.m.
