CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charleston Southern senior running back Mike Holloway has been named the Big South Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday. Holloway accounted for 214 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns to help CSU blow out Monmouth, 35-7, in its conference opener on Saturday.
Holloway ran for a 75-yard touchdown on the second half's first play from scrimmage to give the Bucs a 14-0 lead. He added a 63-yard touchdown reception to account for the final margin as CSU reached the end zone on its first four second half possessions. Holloway's 29-yard burst set up CSU's first touchdown of the day, a 20-yard pass play from Robert Mitchell to Kameron Brown.
Holloway currently leads the Big South and ranks ninth nationally with 115 rushing yards per game. He is averaging an astounding 14.4 yards per carry, with five touchdowns, on 24 attempts.
