Friday Feature: Getting to Know Solomon Brown

Charleston, S.C. - Last year, he earned a spot on the Big South All Conference First Team for the third consecutive season. The Central, S.C. native led the Bucs in the season opener against Florida with eight tackles and a tackle for loss. Solomon Brown is a redshirt senior who has been a defensive leader on the Blue Swarm since his freshman year.

Brown not only excels on the football field, but also in the classroom. The defensive end majors in Applied Mathematics with a psychology minor. Take a look at his favorite TV show and you'll see he's not shy about being a bit of a nerd.

If you won the lottery, how would you use the money? I would put 75% into savings/ the stock market. 20% is play money and 5% will go to my friends and family.

Least favorite household chore: Cleaning the gutters or cutting the grass

Early mornings or late nights: I guess late nights, but neither really bother me.

Best advice ever received: "It's not always what you know, it's who you know." I think my dad said that.

After almost two weeks without facing an opponent, the Bucs will host the home opener this Saturday at 6 p.m. against Elon. Fans can watch live on ESPN+. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.

"I'm excited to see everybody for the first home game," said Brown. "We need everyone to be there, from fans to students and professors. Be there and be loud."
