CHARLESTON, S.C. – Saah Nimley and Cedrick Bowen are teammates once again. The Charleston Southern products, who helped lead the Bucs to Big South Conference regular season championships in 2013 and 2015, are now members of BC Siauliai of the Lithuanian Baltic League Group A.
Nimley signed a deal last week after starting the season with Zornotza in the Spanish LEB Silver League. Bowen arrived in Lithuania last month after opening the year with Fiat Torino of Italy's Serie A. While there, Bowen played under the tutelage of Basketball Hall of Famer Larry Brown.
Both players are in their fourth professional seasons. Nimley was averaging 19 points and nearly five assists per game in six games in Spain, and is coming off a breakout season with the British Basketball League's Newcastle Eagles. Bowen has played in Iceland, Montenegro, Macedonia and the Balkans. They are two of seven CSU alums currently enjoying pro careers.
The Georgia natives teamed with Arlon Harper and Paul Gombwer to form the second winningest four-year class in CSU history. Nimley is the only player in Big South history to record over 1,800 points and 500 assists, and is all over CSU's record book. Bowen, best remembered for his buzzer beating dunk in the Bucs' 2014 overtime win at Ole Miss, ranks second in program history in career field goal percentage.
