Charleston Southern Athletics announced the hire of Andy Serketich as the Head Coach for Men's and Women's Golf on May 26, 2026. He joins the Buccaneers after a successful two-year stretch in the same role at the University of Indianapolis. The 2026-27 academic year will mark his first year with the Buccaneers.
Since taking over the helm of the Greyhounds program, he led them to a combined four tournament team titles and five tournament individual medalist awards. In his last season, the women's team ranked inside the top 20 nationally. During 2024-25, that squad won the GLVC Championship and played in the NCAA National Championship leading to his recognition as the GLVC Women's Golf Coach of the Year. The men's team claimed runner-up accolades in the GLVC Championship during the 2024-25 season and women's team did as well in the 2025-26 season.
The program has had a tremendous total for individual accolades in his two years with the University of Indianapolis which has included nine players earning First-Team All-Conference accolades. One of his recruits, Paige Giovenco, was named the GLVC Freshman of the Year and ranked inside top 50 players nationally at the NCAA D2 level. In the classroom, each of the programs achieved a GPA of 3.6.
Prior to taking on the role of Head Coach at the University of Indianapolis, Serketich spent a season as an assistant coach / director operations for both golf programs at the University of Notre Dame. During that year, he assisted the program with practice plans, tournament logistics, recruitment tracking and monitored the academic progress of the student-athletes.
His first Head Coach role came during his time at Queens University at Charlotte where he served as the Men's Golf Coach for six seasons from 2017-23. During his time leading the Royals, they claimed two conference championships coming in 2019 and 2022. Additionally, he had a pair of student-athletes earn All-American honors, the first in 2019 and the other in 2020, along with seven claiming All-Conference accolades. During his final season leading the program, they excelled academically with a team GPA eclipsing 3.5. There were multiple program records broken during his time including the 18-hole scoring record, 54-hole scoring record and conference tournament scoring record.
Serketich began his career in college golf as a four-year student-athlete at Queens University of Charlotte where he served as a captain during his junior and senior years. Following his graduation, he spent a year working at Whistling Straights Golf Course as an assistant golf professional. He then returned to his alma mater as an assistant golf for the men's and women's golf programs in 2008. He served in that role for two years before being promoted to the title of Associate Head Men's Golf Coach, which he did for four years. During that stint, the program made their first-ever national championship appearance coming in 2010 as well as claimed Conference Carolinas Championships in 2011 and 2013, also their firsts in program history.
He graduated from Queens in 2007 receiving a bachelor's degree in business marketing with a Professional Golf Management Certification and a minor in Pre-Law. Serketich went on to earn his MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens in 2012.
