Bucs continue outdoor campaign with strong showing at Campbell Invitational

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Charleston Southern's 4x100 meter relay team won its event to pace the Bucs at Friday and Saturday's Campbell Invitational.

The quartet of Kaishon Murray, Braxton Drummond, Sheldon Townsend and Josh Paramore combined to run in 42.17 for coach Roosevelt Lofton's Bucs.

Murray was responsible for one of CSU's top individual performances, collecting a third place standing in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.56 seconds.

Drummond followed up his NCAA Division I best long jump of the year with an excellent outing in the 200-meter dash. The Spartanburg, S.C. native recorded a fourth place finish among the field of 18 competitors after crossing the finish line in 21.99 seconds.

CSU senior Sheldon Townsend chipped in with a strong fifth place showing in the 400-meter dash.

Thrower Jacob Moore performed in the shot put, weight throw and hammer throw for the Bucs. Among his highlights was a third place finish in the hammer, thanks to a 48.48 meter toss.

CSU returns to the track in Atlanta next Friday and Saturday for the Georgia Tech Invitational. It will be the Bucs' final preparation for the May 10-12 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
