Buccaneers close out final day of Weems Baskin Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Charleston Southern closed out the Weems Baskin Invitational on Saturday afternoon with the Bucs competing in a number of events in the deep field at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track at the University of South Carolina.

Joshua Paramore paced the Bucs in the men's 100m dash on Saturday with the sophomore crossing the line in 10.84 to finish 21st overall in the event.

Freshman Justin Green led CSU in a deep men's 200m dash event with a time of 22.59 to place 49th overall.

Vincent Johnson was 20th overall in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 15.02 to lead the Bucs. Dadrekas Hill was 36th overall in the event with a time of 16.04.

Terik Johnson was CSU's top finisher in the men's 400m hurdles with the sophomore crossing the line in 57.38.

Frankie Thomas cleared .03m higher than he did at the CSU Spring Break Invitational to finish third overall in the men's high jump on Saturday. Thomas cleared 1.98m to finish behind South Carolina's Tye Williams and Appalachian State's Jordan Dale to finish on the podium.

Timothy Davis turned in a top 10 performance in the men's triple jump with the freshman placing ninth overall with a distance of 13.97m.

Ryan Spiecha paced the Bucs in the men's shot put B finishing second overall with a throw of 15.06m to place behind Alabama State's Roshaine Byfield. Jacob Moore placed 10th overall with a long throw of 13.98m, while Clarence Moss was 19th with a throw of 12.71m.

Moss led the Bucs in the men's discus throw B with the freshman placing seventh in the field with a throw of 42.86m. Spiecha was 14th in the event with a throw of 40.44m, while Moore placed 18th with a throw of 38.38m.

The Bucs continue the outdoor season next weekend at the Florida Relays held on March 30-April 1 at the University of Florida.
