Bucs put three in the top three at the Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Tamara Damjanovic, JP Caglione, and Ryan Spiecha all recorded top three finishes to highlight Charleston Southern's efforts at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Damjanovic (women's triple jump), Caglione (men's hammer throw), and Spiecha (men's shot put) led the Bucs throughout the one-day event at the Morris and Sheila Cregger Track. CSU recorded 16 top 10 finishes overall throughout the day.

Sprints/Hurdles/Relays
Tamara Damjanovic paced the Bucs in the women's 100m dash leading the way with a time of 13.18. She placed 44th in the deep event on the track.

Kailya Jackson made her season debut in the women's 100m hurdles event by leading the Bucs in the field. The freshman finished 33rd overall and crossed the line in 16.13. Victoria Gibson was 38th with a time of 19.14.

Kaitlyn Pierce was CSU's top finisher in the women's 200m dash. She placed 68th in the field with a time of 27.69.

James Allen and Davion Pressley took on the field in the men's 200m dash. Allen placed 41st overall with a time of 22.87, while Pressley crossed in 23.34 to place 47th in the field.

Alexis Adams led four CSU athletes in the women's 400m dash placing 39th in the field with a time of 1:00.96. Jasmine Pilgrim was three spots back with a time of 1:01.19, while Diamond Rush placed 49th with a time of 1:03.58. Pierce placed 52nd overall with a time of 1:04.14.

Five Bucs took on the deep field in the men's 400m dash event. Justin Green paced the Bucs with a 28th place event in 50.97. Vincent Johnson was 40th with a time of 52.15, while Trayvon Harris placed 46th in 53.20. Joshua Paramore (54.10, 50th) and Davion Pressley (56.01, 54th) rounded out the group.

Caroline Edmondson was CSU's top finisher in the women's 400m hurdles event as the sophomore placed ninth in the field. She crossed the line in 1:03.81 to lead three Bucs in the event. Shantel Ardley was 15th overall with a time of 1:07.00, while Nina Massie placed 24th with a time of 1:11.38.

Terik Johnson and Roy Hyman took on the field in the men's 400m hurdles. Johnson was 22nd with a time of 1:01.79, while Hyman placed 27th with a time of 1:08.98.

Javenique McDowell was the top finisher in the women's 800m race after placing 21st in the field with a time of 2:25.47. Traci Drayton added a 24th place result with a time of 2:26.36.

Joshua Bowers, Brandon Damon, and Kyle Morrell took on the field in the men's 800m race. Bowers was 13th overall with a time of 1:57.08, while Damon added a top 20 finish in 16th with a time of 1:59.32. Morrell placed 24th with a time of 2:00.97.

The CSU 4x400m women's relay team placed ninth overall in the field. The quartet of Ardley, Edmondson, McDowell, and Adams crossed the line in 4:03.94.

Green, Bowers, Paramore, and Terry paced CSU's 4x400m relay team with the Bucs taking 10th in the field. The CSU quartet crossed the line in 3:30.85.

Jumpers
Tamara Damjanovic recorded the top three finish in the women's triple jump event. The freshman cleared 11.69m to take third in the field on the day.

Timothy Davis, Frankie Thomas, and Micah Deveaux recorded top 20 finishes in the men's long jump paced by Davis' sixth-place finish. Davis cleared 6.63m to lead the Bucs, while Thomas was 10th with a distance of 6.30m. Deveaux cleared 5.58m to place 17th in the event.

Throwers
Ryan Spiecha, JP Caglione, and Seth Wolfe were in the top six in the men's shot put event for CSU. Spiecha was third with a throw of 15.27m, while Caglione also cleared 15 meters with a distance of 15.10 to place fourth. Wolfe was sixth with a distance of 13.73m.

Milan Williams and Madison McCoy both recorded top 10 finishes in the women's discus throw to pace CSU's throwers on the day. Williams placed eighth in the field with a distance of 41.26m, while McCoy was ninth with a throw of 41.09m.

Clarence Moss led the Bucs in the men's discus throw. The sophomore placed seventh overall with a throw of 41.16m to pace CSU.

Caglione, Spiecha, and Moss also took on the field in the men's hammer throw event. Caglione was third in the field with a throw of 50.47m, while Spiecha was fifth at 46.77m. Moss placed 10th overall with a throw of 39.52m.

Haley Newell was CSU's leader in the women's javelin throw. The freshman placed 16th in the field with a throw of 25.28m.

Distance
Lydia Frierson took on the field in the women's 1500m run. The senior athlete placed 21st in the field with a time of 5:02.35.

Trevor Dominy was CSU's top finisher in the men's 1500m run on Saturday afternoon. Dominy crossed 15th overall with a time of 4:06.95. Keith Terry added a 26th place finish with a time of 4:13.05.

Bethany Thornhill added a top-10 finish in the women's 5000m race. She crossed the line ninth overall with a time of 19:10.45.
