MTRACK Preview: Bucs to Compete in Aggie and Charlotte Invitationals

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern will return to the track after the team took a week off this past weekend. The team will once again be split with most sprinters and jumpers going to the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. and others competing at the Charlotte Invitational in Charlotte.

Time
The Aggie Invitational is set to begin at 4pm on Friday with the javelin with the running events starting at 5pm with the 110 meter hurdles. The action continues on Saturday at 9am with the triple jump and the 4 x 100 meter realy at 11am.

The Charlotte Invitational gets started on Friday afternoon with the javelin at 3:30pm and the 1500 meter prelims at 7:15pm. Saturday's events betin with the shot put at 11am and the 4 x 100 meter relay at noon.

Weekend Preview
Joshua Paramore has the top time in the Big South so far in the 100 and 200 meters at 10.46 in the 100 and a 21.57 in the 200. Vincent Johnson is just two spots behind him in the 200 with a 21.78 mark and Justin Green moved into the top 10 with his 22.10 at the Florida Relays.

Last time out, the Bucs competed in the Florida Relays where Trevor Dominy ran a personal best of 14:41.27 in the 5K and now holds the top time in the conference this year. Also from that meet, Andrew Akright and Jaymee Domoney ran near personal-best times in the 1500 and now hold the top two times in the conference in that event.

In the field, Timothy Davis turned in his season best triple jump at 14.82m. as did JP Caglione with a hammer throw that measured 51.07m.

The Facility

Both meets this weekend will be at Irwin Belk Tracks. NC A&T's Belk Track is a Mondo Super X Performance track that has eight, wide lanes and new throw areas. The track has hosted two NCAA East regionals in the last 15 years and hosted the the US Junior Olympics in 2009.

Charlotte's Belk Track and Field Center has played host to USA Track and Field events, the AAU Junior Olympic Track and Field competition and Atlantic 10 Track and Field and. The track was installed in the fall of 2016 and is made of a Beynon BSS 2000 embedded granule polyurethane surface.
