Wilson and Dominy pace Charleston Southern to second-place finish at S.C. State Bulldog Duels

SANTEE, S.C. - Freshmen Jeryk Wilson and Trevor Dominy finished 1-2 at the S.C. State Bulldog Duels to pace the Charleston Southern men's cross country team to a second-place finish on Saturday morning.

Wilson continued his strong freshman campaign with his first win of the season in out-pacing the rest of the 32 man field. The Athens, Ga. native crossed the line in 26:06.7 to complete the 8K at Matthews Industrial Park.

Dominy finished less than five seconds behind Wilson in his first collegiate race to give CSU the top two runners at the meet. The River, Va. native finished the course in 26:11.2.

CSU finished second overall in the team standings with a total of four runners finishing in the top 10. The Bucs (31) placed behind Savannah State (28) for the team title at the meet.

Brandon Damon was the next Buccaneer to cross the line with the junior placing seventh with a time of 27:56.4. Keith Terry finished ninth overall with a time of 28:26.8.

Caleb Edgehill rounded out the top five for CSU with a 12th place finish. The junior crossed the line in 30:08.6 to secure the second place finish for the Bucs.

Matthew Davis and Chris Fludd-Clark also competed for the Bucs in the morning with the freshman duo finishing 17th and 19th respectively.

Charleston Southern faces a quick turnaround time as the Buccaneers are back at it on Tuesday, October 4 at the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, S.C.
