Bucs head north to Longwood for final Big South series of 2015 season; Play tonight at 7 p.m., Saturday doubleheader at noon

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern heads north for their final Big South series of the 2015 regular season as the Buccaneers travel to Farmville, Va., and Longwood University to wrap up their regular season slate. First pitch at Lancer Field on Friday night is scheduled for 7 p.m., while Saturday's doubleheader is slated to begin at noon.

The Buccaneers bounced back from a tough seven game stretch this week, taking two of three games from Coastal Carolina in their final home series at the CSU Softball Field. Senior Marci Christian led the way at the plate with a pair of home runs, including a grand slam and the game-winning three-run shot in Wednesday's series finale, while fellow senior Jennifer Giles and sophomore Amanda Matsumoto both broke long-standing CSU records against the Chanticleers.

The three-game slate between CSU and Longwood will feature two of the top home run hitters in the NCAA this season with Christian overtaking the Lancers' Megan Baltzell earlier this week, leading the LU slugger 23-22 on the year.

Last season Longwood took both games of the regular season series at the CSU Softball Field, but the Buccaneers bounced back in the Big South Tournament, taking two wins from the Lancers and eliminating Longwood from the postseason. Longwood currently leads the Big South standings on the year with a 14-4 overall record, while CSU is fifth with an 11-9 Big South record.
