Scott Yurcisin

Scott Yurcisin joined the Charleston Southern athletic staff in July of 2022 and was promoted to the Head Athletic Trainer in March 2023. Yurcisin’s primary sport responsibility is the football team and he serves as the primary liaison between Roper St. Francis Hospital and CSU Sports Medicine.
 
In addition to his primary sport assignment, he oversees all aspects of sports medicine across the Charleston Southern campus. Yurcisin is also a key member to the Master of Athletic Training program with the university.
 
Prior to starting with CSU and Roper St. Francis Hospital, Yurcisin was the athletic trainer for Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, S.C. starting in 2018. He also has been the athletic trainer for several high schools in Ohio and served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Mahoning Valley Thunder, a professional arena football team in the AF2 before moving to South Carolina.
 
Yurcisin received his bachelors in 1990 from the University of Akron and completed graduate work at Michigan State University.
 
Scott is married to his wife Susie and they reside in Summerville. The couple have three children – Bridget, Nina, and Brandon, as well as a granddaughter, Maddie.
