JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. - Charleston Southern sits 16th overall in the standings following the first two rounds of the Briar's Creek Invitational hosted at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
No. 23 Michigan State leads the team standings with the Spartans sitting five-under-par through the first two rounds. Indiana, No. 25 Campbell, No. 39 Old Dominion, and host College of Charleston round out the top five.
Aimua carded a pair of 74s over the first two rounds after starting on the 16th hole on Monday. The senior posted a pair of birdies in the first round, and added three holes under par on round two to sit in a 12-way tie for 34th through the first 36 holes.
Hume sits one stroke back at 5-over-par as the freshman is tied for 46th in the field. Hume birdied her first hole of the day in round one, and added five birdies in the second round to wrap up the day.
Daniela Intriago improved on her first round by two strokes as the sophomore sits tied for 79th at 12-over par through the first day. Intriago birdied the 10th hole in the first round to card a seven-over. She added birdies on 18 and four over the second round to improve on her round score with a 77.
Kathryn Thorne bounced back from a tough first round to record four birdies over her first 10 holes in round two to sit 90th overall in the field. Thorne put together a two-round score of 164 to sit 20-over-par on the day.
Sarah Hameed (+29) improved on her first round by five strokes to sit 93rd in the field following her first 36 holes.
Charleston Southern is back on the course tomorrow morning to close out the two-day event at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.
