CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charleston Southern senior midfielder Kelly Hinkle has earned a spot on the Big South All-Tournament team, the league office announced following the championship game on Sunday.
Despite dropping a 3-0 decision to eventual tournament runner-up Longwood, Hinkle was a constant threat around the net. The Cincinnati, Ohio, product came off the bench to fire five shots, half of the Bucs' total, and accounted for three of CSU's five shots on goal.
Her performance capped a season-ending run which saw Hinkle take 11 shots over the final three games and raise her season total to 23, including six on goal. She did not score a goal during the 2017 season but contributed an assist in a win over South Carolina State.
Hinkle wrapped up her career appearing in 71 games with 23 starts. She scored four goals on 68 total shots (24 on goal) and added six assists for 14 points. She had career highs of three goals, three assists and nine points as a junior in 2016.
High Point goalkeeper Alex Hank was named the tournament MVP after allowing only one goal in the Panthers' run to the championship.
