Cloessner's perfect 6-0 record last week helped lead CSU to a couple of conference wins and a 3-0 overall record. She earned three wins in both No. 1 singles and doubles in three consecutive days against Longwood, Savannah State and UNC Asheville.
Cloessner and Man opened the week with a 6-4 win over Longwood in doubles play, and Cloessner followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win in singles for the Buc's first conference win. The doubles duo then won 6-0 over Savannah State with Cloessner adding a 6-3, 6-0 win in singles action. Her and Man's 7-6 (7-3) win in doubles play completed the CSU sweep over UNC Asheville, as Cloessner finished the week with a 6-1, 6-3 victory in singles play to secure the conference victory.
Man finished 5-0 last week with a trio of No. 1 doubles wins with Cloessner while recording a perfect 2-0 record in Big South Conference play on the week. Man teamed up with Cloessner for a 6-4 win over Longwood in doubles play, and then added a 6-3, 6-1 victory on singles court No. 4. She and Cloessner added a 6-0 win in doubles play against Savannah State.
Against UNC Asheville, Man and Cloessner's 7-6 (7-3) win on doubles court No. 1 secured the CSU sweep of the Bulldogs as she added a 6-1, 6-4 No. 4 singles win to improve to 2-0 in Big South play this year.
The Buccaneers continue the 2018 season this weekend with a Friday morning match against UNC Greensboro. First serve in doubles play is set for 11 a.m.
