CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Charleston Southern's women's tennis team was picked third overall in the annual Big South Conference preseason poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
The Buccaneers received 81 points overall to finish behind Winthrop (100 points, 10 first-place votes) and Campbell (86 points). Radford (59) and Presbyterian (56) rounded out the top five in the preseason poll.
CSU returns All-Conference singles and doubles selection Madalina Man, as well as seniors Kimberley Koerner, Yana Morar, and Filippa Ericson to a roster that boasts eight players that gained match experience last season. Liz Williams, Nevena Georgieva, and Tiffany Pyritz will also join the Bucs on the courts this spring following a challenging fall schedule.
CSU opens the 2018 spring season on Friday, January 18, with a match against ACC power Clemson. The Bucs' 2018 home opener is set for February 23 against UNC Wilmington.
