CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern travels to UNC Asheville on Wednesday for a Big South match with the Bulldogs. CSU will play on the road for the first time in two weeks following a three-game homestand.
The Bucs (5-5, 3-1 Big South) are winners of five of their last six matches and currently sit in second place in the Big South. Most recently, the Bucs took all three doubles and five of the six singles matches in a 6-1 win over Gardner-Webb on Saturday at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex.
Filippa Ericson moved up to #1 singles in the win over Gardner-Webb and won her fourth match in a row. She's 3-1 in Big South singles play this season and is half of CSU's best doubles team with Kimberley Koerner, who have won six in a row.
Freshman Tiffany Pyritz is undefeated to start her first season in the Big South, winning her first four conference matches so far. She's 5-1 at the #5 singles this season and has won her last three singles matches.
Kylee Shipley has played in the Bulldogs' top singles spot for nearly every match this season and has posted an 11-8 record on the year. UNC Asheville has started Big South play 0-2 with losses to Radford and Winthrop.
The Bucs return home next week for back-to-back home matches against Presbyterian (Mar. 19) and South Carolina State (Mar. 20).
