WTEN Preview: Bucs host Delaware for Midweek Tilt

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern will play the rest of the regular season at home with the three remaining matches taking place at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex. The Bucs host Delaware on Thursday afternoon coming off three straight wins.

The Bucs (8-7, 5-3 Big South) won three straight matches last week dropping just two points. Tiffany Pyritz and Liz Williams finished the week 3-0 in singles while the Bucs only lost one doubles match all week. With the two Big South wins, the CSU is now in fourth place in the conference standings with just one conference match remaining.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pyritz and Madalina Man were named Big South Freshman and Player of the week. Man won her fourth and fifth singles matches in a row this week and has now won eight of her last 10. Both wins this week came at No. 1 singles spot as the sophomore improved to 7-1 in Big South play. She also paired with Tiffany Pyritz to win two matches this week at the No. 1 doubles spot this week. The pair might have won a third but their match was halted at 4-1.

Pyritz won five matches this week between her three singles and two doubles wins. She improved to 6-2 in Big South play with singles wins during the week before winning at the No. 2 singles spot over the weekend. In doubles, she paired with Madalina Man to win two matches this week at the No. 1 doubles spot this week. The pair might have won a third but their match was halted at 4-1.

The Blue Hens come into the week with an 8-9 record, but are on a hot streak having won their last five matches in a row. Caragh Courtney has won four matches in a row including one at the top singles spot.
