CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) - Charleston Southern was picked fourth in both the Big South men's and women's outdoor track and field preseason polls as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.
The Buccaneers are coming off of their first outdoor meet of the season at the CSU Spring Break Invitational at the Bagwell-Settle Stadium Track. CSU boasted five champions over the event paced by top finishes in the men's 100m dash, the men's long jump, the men's high jump, the women's 100m hurdles, and the women's 4x100m relay.
The men's team received 26 points to sit fourth overall in the polls. The women's team received 39 points to also sit fourth overall in the polls. Charleston Southern posted fourth-place results in both the men's and the women's Indoor Track & Field Championships held on February 25-26 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
CSU continues the outdoor season this weekend at the Weems Baskin Invitational hosted by the University of South Carolina at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track on March 24-25.
