COLUMBIA, S.C. - Charleston Southern closed out the Weems Baskin Invitational on Saturday afternoon with the Bucs competing in a number of events in the deep field at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track at the University of South Carolina.
Jasmine Pilgrim paced the Bucs in the women's 100m dash with a time of 11.99 to finish 14th overall in the deep field. TeJyrica Robinson was 18th overall with a time of 12.11, while Aluntrea Davis finished 24th after crossing the line in 12.29.
Kolisha Coleman was CSU's top finisher in the women's 200m dash crossing the line 17th overall with a time of 24.42. Davis was 22nd with a time of 24.63, while Pilgrim finished 30th with a time of 24.85. Alexis Adams (25.01, 35th) and Caroline Edmondson (26.10, 54th) rounded out the group in the event.
Danielle Burnett led the Bucs in the women's 400m dash with a time of 55.87 to finish 12th overall. Coleman finished 18th with a time of 56.88.
Emma-Lisa Murphy placed sixth overall in the field of the women's 1500m run on Saturday crossing the line in 4:46.00
Edmondson was CSU's leader in the women's 100m hurdles finishing 20th overall with a time of 14.91. Areale Frazier finished 32nd with a time of 16.13.
Destinie Little led the Bucs in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.46 to finish 21st in the field. Frazier was four spots behind with a time of 1:05.46.
The Buccaneers' 4x100 relay team finished ninth in the field in the event. Davis, Robinson, Pilgrim, and Coleman crossed the line in 46.71.
Freshman Alexus Foreman finished fifth overall in the women's shot put A finals. Foreman's longest throw of the day was 13.15m to lead the Bucs in the event, while Milan Williams finished 11th overall with a throw of 11.14m.
Williams was the top discus thrower for CSU on Saturday with the freshman finishing seventh in the event with a throw of 38.73m.
Traci Drayton took on the field for CSU in the women's 800m run B. The sophomore finished 14th overall in the event with a time of 2:27.58.
Briana Sims paced the Bucs in the women's shot put B event. The freshman finished just behind Alabama State's Kristen Thompson with a throw of 12.25m. Madison McCoy finished seventh in the event with a throw of 11.16m.
McCoy led the Bucs in the women's discus throw B event finishing fourth overall with a throw of 39.26m. Sims was 16th overall with a toss of 34.18m.
The Bucs continue the outdoor season next weekend at the Florida Relays held on March 30-April 1 at the University of Florida.
