CHARLESTON, S.C. - Kolisha Coleman, Jasmine Pilgrim, Madison Burkholder, Danielle Burnett, TeJyrica Robinson, Caroline Edmondson, and both of the Bucs' relay teams took top honors in their respective events to lead CSU's efforts at the Lowcountry Invitational on Saturday at the Bagwell-Settle Track.
Kolisha Coleman took the individual title in the women's 100m dash to pace the Bucs in the event. The senior finished with a time of 12.24 to lead the field. Alexis Adams was third overall and second among collegiate athletes in the event with a time of 12.62.
Alexis Adams paced the collegiate field and finished second in the women's 200m dash with a time of 25.84.
Madison Burkholder led the Bucs and finished second overall in the women's 5000m race with a time of 20:21.47.
The Bucs took the first three spots in the women's 100m hurdles and the top four positions in the 400m hurdles to dominate the events on the track.
Caroline Edmondson paced the field in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.57. Shantel Ardley was second with a time of 1:07.37, while Frazier placed third with a time of 1:07.47. Nina Massie finished fourth overall with a time of 1:11.29.
Burkholder took the individual title in the women's 2000m steeplechase with a time of 7:57.26.
The Bucs' 4x100m relay and the 4x400m relay teams swept the events on the day. The 4x100m relay team of Robinson, Pilgrim, Davis, and Coleman finished with a time of 46.20 to win the event. The 4x400 team crossed the line in 4:04.17 led by Little, Ardley, Edmondson and Reed to take the title.
Victoria Gibson and Demisha Norman led the Bucs' jumping efforts on the day in the women's long jump. Gibson finished second overall with a jump of 5.39m, while Norman placed fourth with a jump of 5.23m.
Alexus Foreman was the top collegiate finisher in the women's shot put event with a throw of 13.35m to finish second. Briana Sims (3rd, 12.47m), Milan Williams (4th, 11.66m), Frazier (6th, 11.18m) and Madison McCoy (7th, 11.13m) rounded out the group in the event.
Williams led CSU in the women's discus event with a throw of 41.02m to finish second in the field. McCoy (3rd, 38.95m), Foreman (4th, 36.83m), and Sims (5th, 36.78m) rounded out the top five in the field, while Megan Newton finished ninth overall with a distance of 27.38m.
McCoy was CSU's top thrower in the women's hammer event with a distance of 41.08m to finish second in the field. Foreman was fourth overall with a throw of 37.99m.
Newton took on the field in the women's javelin event. The freshman placed third overall with a throw of 31.39m in her second attempt.
The Buccaneers close out the 2017 outdoor track & field regular season next weekend at the University of South Carolina Invitational on April 22.
