Williams' Three Podium Finishes Highlight Buccaneer Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern hosted its second home meet of the season at Bagwell-Settle Track in the Buccaneer Invitational on Friday and Saturday. 

Podium Finishes

Sprints/Hurdles
Eden Senior set a new outdoor best in the 400 as she took the title in that event. The freshman also turned in a personal best in the 400m hurdles and finished third. Caroline Edmondson looked strong in the hurdles again with a title in the 400m hurdles and a second place finish in the 100m hurdles.

Jumps
Victoria Gibson set a new personal best in the high jump by clearing a 1.55m bar. She also finished on the podium in the triple jump.

Throws
Milan Williams turned in a spectacular performance over two days. On Friday, she won the hammer throw and took second in both the discus and shot put on Saturday.

Distance
The Bucs put two on the podium in the 1500m with Rebecca Cadet and Javenique McDowell finishing 2-3. Senior Bethany Thornhill ran a new personal best in the 5K and broke the 19 minute mark.

Up Next
The Bucs will travel to Gainesville, Florida, next weekend for the Florida Relays. A few athletes will also make the trip to the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State.
