CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern continues Big South play on Tuesday night as the Buccaneers welcome Presbyterian College for a midweek match at the Buccaneer Field House. It will be the second time in as many weeks CSU and PC face off with the Bucs winning the first matchup on September 20 in Clinton, 3-1. Presbyterian snapped a 14 match losing streak this past weekend with a 3-0 win over Gardner-Webb to improve to 1-2 in Big South Conference play. The Blue Hose enter the Tuesday matchup with Charleston Southern with a 3-14 overall record on the season with wins over S.C. State, Mississippi Valley State and GWU. CSU topped Presbyterian on September 20 in Clinton in the Big South opener for both teams, winning 3-1 over the Blue Hose.
Sierra Davis continues to lead the Blue Hose with 3.17 kills per set on the season. Samantha Del Toro (2.43) and Erin Eulitz (2.29) are also averaging multiple kills per set. Del Toro is the team's hitting leader with a .235 hitting percentage. Sara Rogers sets up the Presbyterian offense with 9.30 assists per set. Defensively, Mikayla Register is the team's digging leader with 4.55 per set. Ashton Stewart is the blocking leader with 0.61 per set.

Addison Kaderli and Charleston Southern volleyball opened Big South Conference play with 3-1 win over Presbyterian in the Templeton Center as the Buccaneers topped the Blue Hose 27-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-16. Kaderli led the way for CSU with 17 kills and 16 digs as the Bucs hit .190 as a team from the floor in the Big South opener for both teams. It was the first time CSU volleyball won its conference opener since the 2009 season when the Bucs topped the Blue Hose at home in straight sets.

Connor Malone and Kylie Klein sparked Charleston Southern in the deciding fifth set as the Buccaneers bounced back after dropping the third and fourth sets to top Campbell in the Buccaneer Field House. The Bucs improved to 3-0 in Big South Conference play following the 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 18-25, 15-13, win over the Camels. Malone saved her best for the fifth set with the redshirt senior right side hitter connecting on four kills, including the final two points for the Bucs, in leading CSU to the 15-13 set win. Klein gave the Bucs the lead with a stretch that included a kill and back-to-back service aces to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 7-5 advantage. CSU never trailed the remainder of the set in closing out the win.

CSU is 2-5 against Presbyterian under Head Coach Christy Mooberry with wins in their past two matchups against the Blue Hose.
Bucs and Campbell against Common Opponents
Charleston Southern and Presbyterian have faced off against two common opponents in the 2016 season. The Bucs and the Blue Hose both faced off against S.C. State and Georgia Southern during the pre-conference schedule. CSU topped S.C. State in Orangeburg, S.C. on August 30, 3-0. The Bucs fell to Georgia Southern at the Bash in the Boro, 3-1. Presbyterian topped S.C. State in straight sets, but fell 3-1 to Georgia Southern at the Crimson-White Tournament this past weekend hosted by Alabama.
CSU is 3-0 in Big South Conference Play
You have to dig back into the record books to find the last time the Buccaneers opened Big South Conference play with back-to-back wins. CSU previously started conference play with a 3-0 record back in the 1988 season under Hall of Fame coach Amir Khaledi. CSU opened the season with a pair of home wins against Coastal Carolina and Radford on their way to posting a 5-1 record in conference play on the year. CSU went on to win the Big South regular season and tournament championships in the 1988 season.

Charleston Southern has been well-decorated by the Big South Conference in the 2016 season with three Buccaneers receiving weekly honors by the conference office. Madison Martin (Defensive) and Brooke Monssen (Freshman) both received honors after leading CSU at the Bash in the Boro hosted by Georgia Southern. Rachel Smith joined the duo, earning Big South Freshman of the Week honors on September 26 after leading the Bucs to back-to-back Big South wins over Gardner-Webb and Presbyterian.
