CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern head volleyball coach Christy Mooberry announced the addition of Madison Malloch to the 2017 signing class on Tuesday morning.
Malloch joins Deona Mims, Hannah Tavares, Kalysia Bates, and Skylar Blackmon, as CSU looks to build off of one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Buccaneers earned the No. 5 seed in the 2016 Big South Championships, advancing to the quarterfinal round for the second straight season.
"At 6'3" and powerful, we believe Madison has great potential to be an effective hitter in the Big South," Mooberry said. "We will be redshirting her this first season to allow her to train with the team and Coach (Chad) Scott and we're excited and hopeful to see what she does with this opportunity."
Malloch signs with the Bucs from Mount Pleasant, S.C. where she lined up as an outside hitter for Hanahan High School. She also lined up on the outside for the Carolina Islanders and the MVP club teams.
Malloch recorded 375 kills, 224 digs, 49 blocks and 43 aces and is a three-time All-Region selection. She was also named to the 2016 All-State team. She is a two-time Swampfox Tournament MVP and was named to the Gamecock Classic All-Tournament team.
Additionally, Malloch was an All-Region goalkeeper for Hanahan. She is a member of the Beta Club and the National Honor Society.
