Mooberry, Bucs add six to signing class

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern volleyball head coach Christy Mooberry announced her recruiting class Friday morning. Six athletes signed to enroll at CSU and join the Buccaneers for the 2019 season.

"I'm excited about this class for a lot of reasons. They bring in the character, team mentality and work ethic we are looking for and they have experience winning," Mooberry said of her six-member class.

She added, "It's been fun getting to know them through the recruiting process and I'm excited to have them on campus soon. This group will add some height and depth positionally to the program as well."

Mooberry's class spans across the U.S. with athletes from Hawai'I, Michigan, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia and features two setters, three outside hitters and a middle blocker.


Rachel Feggeler

Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker | Christiansburg, Va. | Christiansburg High School | Coastal River Valley Juniors

  • Has been named to First Team All-District and First Team All-Region during her time at Christiansburg High School
  • Received several accolades in the classroom including Student of the Month, Senior of the Month, Leader of the Mentor Program and Vice President of the Journalism Club
  • Feggeler is also a member of BETA, the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, the Social Club, Demons for Shelter Animals and Spirit Club
  • Daughter of Linn and Steven Feggeler

Emilee Karlese

Setter | Rockford, Mich. | Rockford High School | Far Out Volleyball Club

  • An All-Conference player who also earned All-Region and Third Team All-State honors
  • Led her high school team to a Division I state runner-up
  • Racked up 1,541 assists during the 2018 season
  • She owns the record for second-most assists in a single season
  • A 2017 16U Premier Division National Champion at the AAU Nationals and was named Advanced All-Area Second Team
  • Earned academic letters her first three seasons in high school and was named to the All-American Watch List in 2018
  • Daughter of Kelli and Lee Karlese
  • Plans to major in kinesiology

Emma Minnick

Setter | Radford, Va. | Radford High School | Coastal River Valley Juniors

  • A setter who holds the Radford High School record with 3,255 career assists
  • Two-time Scholar Athlete of the Month, All-Timesland. four-time All-Conference, Two-time Conference Player of the Year, three-time All-State first team, Wendy's Heisman state finalist, 2A All-State Player of the Year and First Team All-State
  • Three sport athlete who also played basketball and soccer for two seasons
  • Two-time All-Conference soccer player
  • Daughter of Freda and Robert Minnick
  • Plans to major in business

Gabby Naniseni

Outside Hitter | Mililani, Hawai'i | Mililani High School | Ku'ikahi Volleyball

  • A four-year starter who led her team in blocks with 31 total while adding 80 kills, 14 aces, three assists and 49 digs as a senior
  • Led her team to OIA West Championships in 2015, 2016 and 2018
  • Named OIA West Second Team member in 2017 & 2018
  • 2017 All-State honorable mention
  • 2016 OIA West honorable mention
  • Relatives John Waa played football at the University of Hawi'i-Manoa while Danny Kalavi played football at Oregon State
  • Daughter of Jason and Melissa Naniseni
  • Plans to major in psychology

Paige Reagor

Middle Blocker | Frisco, Texas | Heritage High School | Knights Volleyball Academy

  • The 2018 Defensive Player of the Year at Heritage High School
  • Second Team All-District player
  • Four-year volleyball athlete
  • Accumulated 374 kills, 236 blocks and 8 service aces across the past two seasons for Heritage High
  • A 6'5 middle blocker from Texas who adds immediate height/depth at the net for CSU
  • Daughter of Polly and Cameron Reagor

Abby Vacha

Outside Hitter | Whispering Pines, N.C. | Union Pines High School | Brick City Volleyball

  • All-around player in her time at Union Pines collecting 1,078 kills, 305 blocks, 240 assists, 691 digs and 227 service aces.
  • Played outside hitter, middle blocker and setter in her high school career
  • Three-time All-Conference first team player, Two-time Conference Player of the Year, Fayetteville News All-Cape Fear Team, Raleigh News & Observer All-Metro Team & Player of the Year – Southern Counties and three-time team MVP
  • Two-sport athlete who also made second team All-Conference in basketball
  • Her father, Tony, played basketball at Kemper Military Junior College and Ouachita Baptist University
  • Daughter of Tony and Lara Vacha
  • Plans to major in biochemistry
