Bucs compete at Commodore Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Charleston Southern's trio of runners took on the field at the 15th annual Commodore Classic on Saturday morning at Percy Warner Park.

Matt Inman and Andrew Akright competed as individuals in the men's eight-kilometer race, while Caroline Inman was CSU's representative in the women's 5K.

Matt Inman paced the Bucs' male duo finishing 99th overall in the field. He averaged a 5:33.6 pace over the 4.97-mile course on his way to crossing the line in 27:40.9. Akright's pace of 5:35.7 put him close behind his CSU teammate as the sophomore finished 103rd in the field with a time of 27:48.6.

Caroline Inman continued her strong start to her collegiate career placing 90th overall in the women's field. Her pace of 6:12.8 was good for a time of 19:19.5.

The Bucs continue the 2018 season and will field full teams at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on September 29.
