Cedric Williams joined Charleston Southern as the assistant coach for the offensive line and as the run game coordinator in February of 2026 and will have the 2026 season mark his first year with the Buccaneers. He arrived in Charleston after having his most recent stop come at Florida A&M.

While with the Rattlers, he served as the Co-Offensive Coordinator, offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Between his last two seasons there, they have had one of the top offenses in the SWAC. During the 2024 season, they led the league in multiple offensive categories including scoring, passing and first downs.

Prior to that role, he spent three years at North Carolina Central as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator. The Eagles had the top offense in the MEAC in Williams' first season, averaging nearly 39 points a game and over 445 yards of offense. NCCU led the MEAC in rushing, averaging 210.8 yards per contest, and the team tied for the fewest sacks allowed in the league with 18. Also, they had Robert Mitchell earn the MEAC's Offensive Lineman of the Year award, and five offensive players earn First-Team All-Conference including Offensive Player of the Year Davius Richard and running back Latrell Collier.

During the 2021 campaign, Williams helped coach South Pointe High School to the South Carolina 4A state championship title. That year he worked as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

Williams has been selected to participate in the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program on multiple occasions, including with the Seahawks (2026), Ravens (2025), Chargers (2020), Eagles (2019), Giants (2018), Vikings (2015), Steelers (2013), and Panthers (2012).

In Williams' first season at Georgia State, offensive guard Shamarious Gilmore earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors. Their offense in 2017 set school records for highest completion percentage in a season as well as most yards in a game (670) and most points vs. an FBS opponent (47).

Williams spent the 2016 season as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at South Carolina following five seasons as the offensive line coach at Newberry (S.C.) College. He was elevated to assistant head coach in 2013, helping to lead Newberry to NCAA Div. II playoff berths in 2013 and 2015.

Williams had five different Newberry players earn all-conference recognition during his tenure. In 2011, the Wolves ranked second nationally in Div. II for fewest sacks allowed, giving up only five sacks in 10 games. In addition to coaching the Newberry offensive line, Williams was elevated to assistant head coach in 2013.

Williams went to Newberry after one season (2010) as the offensive line coach at Mississippi Valley State. After allowing 58 sacks in the year prior to Williams' arrival, the Delta Devils improved to 24 sacks allowed in the 2010 season, one of the biggest turnarounds in FCS history.

In 2009, Williams served as the offensive line coach at Tennessee State, and his unit led the Ohio Valley Conference in fewest sacks allowed.

Williams began his coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Gamecocks from 2006-08. He served as the interim offensive line coach for the 2008 Outback Bowl.

A four-year starter on the offensive line at South Carolina (1999-02), Williams was a first-team All-SEC performer in 2000 and helped his team to Outback Bowl victories following the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

The Charleston, S.C., native earned his bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina in sport and entertainment management. He is married to the former Richelle Grant, and the couple has two daughters, Nina and Cai, and a son, Grant.
