Jeter captures 400-meter title as Bucs finish fourth at Big South Championships

Jeter turned in a time of 47.48 seconds to run the fastest 400 in the Big South this year and put himself in position to earn a spot in the East Regional next month. His victory was the Buccaneers only individual running championship at the 2013 Big South Conference Outdoor Championships.
Rozzie Johnson took second in the 100-meter dash and third overall in the men's 200-meters to pull in 14 points for the Bucs. he ran his fastest time of the year with a 10.53 in the 100m and followed with a 21.14 in the 200m. He has a chance to reach the regionals in both events.
The Buccaneers relay teams shined on Saturday afternoon as both the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter teams finished second in their respective events.
In the 4x100 meter relay, Rozzie Johnson, Braxton Drummond, Jeff Jones and Jarad Jeter fought back and forth with champion Coastal Carolina, finishing .06 seconds behind the Chanticleers with a time of 40.89.
The 4x400 meter relay also saw Charleston Southern finish behind Coastal Carolina as Khalid Powell, Justin Gorbea, Lavon Allen and Jarad Jeter crossed the line with a time of 3:15.03.
Jacque Carter took on the field for the Buccaneers in the men's discus, finishing 15th overall with a distance of 35.15 meters.
Back-to-back finishes highlighted the men's triple jump for Charleston Southern as Avery Coe and EJ Reddick placed third and fourth overall in the event. Coe finished with a distance of 14.40 meters, while Reddick was right behind with a jump of 14.37 meters. Malcolm Jackson finished eighth overall with a jump of 13.69 meters, while Cory Rhodes rounded out the group in 18th overall with a distance of 12.91 meters.
The men's 110 meter hurdles saw Corvaughn Archie take on the field, and the CSU senior placed sixth in the event, crossing the line in a time of 14.62.
Jeff Jones also took on the field in the 100 meter event, placing sixth overall with a time of 10.84.
