CLINTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern fell on Tuesday night despite a 15 point, seven rebound performance by Tatum Jarvis inside the Templeton Center as CSU dropped a 71-40 decision to host Presbyterian in Big South Conference action.

Jarvis, in her first start of the season, was 6-of-12 from the floor, 2-of-7 from behind the three-point line to pace the Bucs in the contest. Her seven rebounds were also tops among the Bucs as CSU pulled down 16 offensive boards in the game.

Charleston Southern falls to 3-14 overall with the loss, 0-9 in Big South play with the loss. Presbyterian improves to 10-8, 5-4 in conference play.

Alise Karlsone scored eight points for the Bucs, going 3-of-3 from the floor in the game, while Monique Maximilien had a season-high three blocked shots as CSU fell behind early and was unable to dig themselves out of a first half hole in the loss.

Keyonna Allen led PC with 17 points in the contest, while Tia Mason added 12 points off the bench as the Blue Hose shot 54.9% as a team from the floor.

Jarvis and Alecia Hardy both had layups for CSU early to pull the Bucs within one at 5-4 at the 16:27 mark. However, in a stretch that was not what the Bucs were looking for, Presbyterian responded with a 25-4 run capped by back-to-back Mason layups to take a 30-8 lead with 4:32 to play in the first half.

Rochelle Brophy capped off a late run by the Bucs before the break as CSU went into the half trailing 36-16.

The second half saw the Blue Hose go up by as many as 30 on their way to closing out the victory.

Charleston Southern remains on the road this weekend as the Bucs travel to Farmville, Va., to take on Longwood. Tipoff between the Bucs and the Lancers on Saturday afternoon is set for 2 p.m. inside Willet Hall.
