HONOLULU – Charleston Southern freshman Jasmine Pilgrim registered first-place finishes in the 100 and 200-meter dashes to lead the Bucs in a dual meet at the University of Hawaii on Friday and Saturday. The meet was part of the annual Rainbow Relays Event.

CSU won five events in total, with Rachel Lees and Rashida Dooling adding top showings in the high jump and 100-meter hurdles, respectively. The Bucs' 4x100-meter relay squad of Aluntrea Davis, Pilgrim, Amanda Trapp and Kolisha Coleman bested Hawaii's quartet in that event.
Pilgrim enjoyed another strong weekend in showcasing a promising future under head coach Tosha Ansley. Pilgrim ran the 100-meter in 12.15 seconds, finishing .32 seconds clear of her closest pursuer. She picked up a 200-meter title as well with a 25.09 seconds time that was .31 seconds faster than her seed time and a personal best as well. Trapp, a sophomore, was just .14 seconds behind Pilgrim in the latter event.
Lees, who won the high jump at March's Shamrock Invitational, topped the high jump field with an effort of 1.60 meters. Dooling topped the 100-meter hurdles field with a time of 14.67 seconds.
Bucs' freshman Brianna Watts-Pittman achieved a personal best in the triple jump and moved into fourth place in the Big South Conference to this point of the outdoor season. Watts-Pittman jumped 12.00 meters even and is one of only four league athletes to clear 12 meters this year.
CSU senior Joshlyn Noga returned to her native Hawaii for the Bucs and highlighted her effort with third place finishes in the shot put and hammer throw. She threw almost .50 meters above her seed distance in the hammer. Noga's personal career best in the hammer throw came along with one in the discus, where she threw 36.88 meters.
Noga's fellow senior throw, Talei Tagivakatini, chalked up a personal record in the discus, finshing third with a throw of 43.48 meters.
CSU returns to action next Friday and Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta.
