SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Charleston Southern never trailed as the Bucs defeated Wofford, 68-45, to complete non-conference play on Saturday at the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.
CSU improves to 5-6 following the win, while Wofford falls to 5-8 with the loss. CSU had four players score in double-digits including Weknyne Dumorne and Shauntavia Dobson with 12 points each, while Njeri Nelms and Lexii Cassell both had 11 points.
The Bucs opened the game on a 12-4 run that was capped off with a Shelby Wilbanks jumper with 2:51 to go in the first quarter. CSU didn't slow down from there as the Bucs used solid defensive play including five steals and five blocks to control the pace of the game.
Wofford cut the score to 16-13 on a Marissa Bayer layup with 5:28 left in the second quarter. Charleston Southern responded with an 8-1 run as Ke'Asia Jackson knocked down two free throws with nine seconds to go to put the Bucs ahead 24-14 at halftime.
CSU kept up the fast tempo in the second half as Dumorne completed a traditional three-point play to give the Bucs a 41-21 lead. Charleston Southern held a 46-28 advantage at the end of the third frame.
The Terriers never got closer than 15 points in the final stanza as the Bucs closed out their first road win of the season.

- Weknyne Dumorne tied her career-high with 12 points while adding four rebounds and three blocks.
- Shauntavia Dobson scored 12 points on 5-10 from the field and 2-4 from the three-point line. Dobson tied her season-high with four rebounds.
- CSU shot a solid 22-58 (37.9%) from the field and 21-30 (70.0%) from the free throw line.
- The Bucs held a 50-37 rebounding advantage. It was the most rebounds CSU has recorded since having 54 in the season opener against Lipscomb.
