CHARLESTON, S.C. – Samford used a doubles win the three singles points for a win over Charleston Southern women's tennis Saturday in nonconference action from the Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center.
Samford (8-7) got an early 1-0 lead behind the doubles point taking two of the courts then got singles wins at one and five after Charleston Southern (3-5) opened singles play with wins at courts three and four.
Khyanna Singh and
Michelle Schmitz ended their weekends on a high note taking down their Bulldog counterparts in straight-sets and a 2-1 Buccaneer lead, but it was short-lived as Samford responded with three singles wins to clinch.
Saturday's loss ends the Bucs' homestand after wins over Gardner-Webb and Stetson and a matchup with old rival Liberty 24 hours prior.
