CHARLESTON, S.C. –
Catherine Alben scored a career-high 25 points; however, that was not enough on Saturday, as the Charleston Southern women's basketball team fell to 0-4 in the conference with a 66-58 loss to the Presbyterian Blue Hose.

In a defensive battle, the Bucs (2-13, 0-4 in conference) forced a season-high 22 turnovers, including five steals from Alben and three steals from Ziare Hicks, who finished with six points.
Kennedi Jackson just missed her third double-double of the season with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Madison Adamson was the team's leading rebounder with 11.
The Blue Hose out-rebounded the Bucs 45-33 including 16-13 on the offensive side of the ball, which led to 16 second-chance points.

The Blue Hose (7-8, 3-1 in conference) got the scoring started early on, jumping out to a quick 8-2 lead with a pair of three-pointers and a lay-up. The Bucs followed that with a 7-0 run of their own with a
Sha'Mya Leigh lay-up and five-straight points from Alben to take a 9-8 lead with 6:16 left to go. After falling behind 13-9, the Bucs finished the quarter on a 5-0 run to take a 14-13 lead into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, the Bucs were out-scored 22-16. After a lay-up by
Kennedi Jackson made it 20-18 in favor of the Blue Hose, Presbyterian went on an 11-2 run to take their largest lead of the game at 31-20 with 3:53 to go in the first half. The Bucs would not go quietly, as Alben hit a three-pointer as time ran out to cut the deficit to five heading into the locker room. She had 17 points in the first half alone.
Presbyterian pushed their lead back up to 9 to start the third quarter and saw their lead get to as high as 10 at 44-34. Then, the Bucs cut it to 4 with a pair of free throws by
Kennedi Jackson, before surrendering four-straight points to fall behind 49-42 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, the Bucs could not cut the deficit closer than seven points, as the Blue Hose dominated inside, forcing the Bucs to shoot more outside shots. CSU took eight shots from beyond the arc and made just two of them. They shot 31.3% overall from the field while losing the rebound battle 15-8.
