CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Southern women's tennis team lost a tough one on Saturday, falling to the Georgia Southern Eagles 4-3 at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. This dropped the Bucs record to 2-4 on the season.
The Bucs came out on top in the doubles round, as
Tiffany Pyritz/Zoe Cauthren won 7-6 (7-5), while
Luiza Fullana/Kyanna Singh won 6-1.
In the singles round, Georgia Southern got the best of CSU, taking four of the six matchups. Fullana fought back after losing the first set 6-1 with 6-2 and 6-0 wins.
Amila Jusufbegovic also fought back from an early deficit with a 7-5 and 6-2 win. The Eagles won on the final four courts, including a hard-fought battle on court six. After losing set one, Singh was able to take set two 6-2, but fell in a tough set three by a 6-7 (3-7) score.
