Tennis Gets First Win Against Queens

CHARLESTON, S.C. -  The Charleston Southern women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season on Wednesday, cruising to a 6-1 victory over the Queens Royals at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center. 

The Bucs (1-3) took an early 1-0 lead after sweeping in doubles. Tiffany Pyritz and Zoe Cauthen took the first win 6-3, Marina Skegro and Kassandra Di Staulo took the 6-2 win and Luiza Fullana and Khyanna Singh won 6-4.

Singles went in favor of the Bucs as well, as the Royals (0-4) were unable to get enough wins. Five of the six matchups went in favor of the Bucs. Fullana swept her way through with a 6-3 score in the first round and a 7-5 win in round two. Di Staulo also swept with 6-0 and 6-1 wins. 

Next Up
Charleston Southern hits the road again this Friday, as they head to Conway, S.C. to take on Coastal Carolina at noon. Coastal Carolina leads the overall series 24-12. They defeated the Bucs 6-1 back in 2021.
