ALBEN LEADS THE WAY
Charleston Southern had an impressive showing from its All-Freshman guard, as
Catherine Alben showed up with 15 points to stand as the lone Buccaneer in double figures. Alben also had a perfect showing from the charity stripe, converting each of her five attempts.
FREEBIES AND THE SUPPORT
The charity stripe was kind to the Buccaneers in the contest, as the Bucs finished the evening shooting 8-9, led by Alben's perfect 5-5. As far as bench points, the Bucs outscored USC Upstate's bench 20-15.
BOARDS, BOARDS, BOARDS
Madison Adamson proved to be a force on the glass for Charleston Southern, as she tracked down a game-high 10, finishing just four points away from a double-double.

THE DIFFERENCE
USC Upstate was able to outrebound Charleston Southern 40-29, as well as outscore the Bucs 28-20 in the paint. Charleston Southern was able to bring it within 10 a few times in the second half, but the Spartans always had an answer and were able to pull late to spell the end.

The loss to USC Upstate in the First Round of the 2022-23 Hercules Tires Big South Basketball Championships brings the Charleston Southern season to a close. The campaign was highlighted by Ziare Hicks being named to the All-Big South Academic Team as well as
