CHARLESTON, S.C. - It was a quick match on Monday, as the Charleston Southern women's tennis team cruised to a 4-0 win over the Rhode Island Rams to win their fifth-straight match.
The Bucs (7-5) got it started in the doubles round, sweeping the Rams (4-7) 2-0. The teams of
Luiza Fullana/Kyanna Singh and
Zoe Cauthen/
Tiffany Pyritz started the afternoon with 6-2 victories, giving CSU the 1-0 lead.
In singles, the Bucs took care of business as well, winning three matches to take the 4-0 win and first shutout of the season.
Noa Boyd,
Kassandra Di Staulo and
Marina Skegro all came away with sweeps.
Boyd won her match fairly easily 6-2 and 6-0, Di Staulo won 6-1 and 6-2 and Skegro had a little bit more of a challenge in the second set, winning 6-0 and 7-5.
Cauthan, Jusufbegovic nor Singh finished their match because it was already decided.

The Bucs have a quick turnaround, have two matches in the next two days, starting with a battle at Gary Clark Banks Sr. Tennis Center tomorrow at noon when UAB comes to town.
