Charleston Southern saw four new school records over the last few days at the Raleigh Regionals. The competitive field in North Carolina brought out the best in the Bucs, especially the record-setting relay team and distance runners.
Sprints/Hurdles
Jewel Ash finished tenth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 60.73 and
Grenisha Thomas wasn't far behind at 63.74. Thomas' time is her personal best and is tenth overall at CSU. In the 100m hurdles,
Austyn Koppe ran her personal best time of 14.22 and now holds the ninth fastest time at CSU.
Destiny Wallace finished the 100m ninth overall at 11.59, moving her into third place in the school records.
Lauryn James came in 12th place with a time of 11.75. James teamed up with
Dylann Core,
Jewel Ash, and
Maddie St. Louis to run CSU's fastest 4x400m relay in school history with a time of 3:42.15.
Jumps
Chloe Green was the lone jumper in action for the Bucs. Her best long jump mark measured in at 4.93m.
Throws
Layla Senter and
Zemaya Carson turned in respective shot put marks of 13.43m and 13.17m. Carson also competed in the discus, with her best mark coming in at 36.66m
Distance
Three Buccaneers hold new school records in the distance events.
Sarah McCartney took down the school record in the 10K with a time of 35:24.97.
Keerstin Augustin also nabbed a school record, her's was in the 5K with her time of 17:08.70. Finally,
Anne Akagi now has the top 800m in school history of 2:11.38 along with the second-fastest 1500m time of 4:35.37.

After a well-deserved weekend off, the Bucs head west to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Tennessee Relays.
