CHARLOTTE, N.C. - On the final week of the 2023-24 regular season,
Kennedi Jackson becomes the first Charleston Southern women's basketball player of the season to win Big South Co-Player of the Week. The Big South announced this on Sunday.
Jackson averaged 23.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists this week as the Bucs went 1-1 against Radford and Presbyterian to secure the No. 4 seed in this week's Big South Tournament in High Point. She was one point away from matching her career high of 27 points against Radford, finishing with 26 points and nine rebounds as well as four assists. Against Presbyterian on Saturday, the New Orleans, LA native scored 21 points on eight rebounds and shot 67% from the field. Overall, she shot 55.9% from the field over the course of the week.
Jackson becomes the second player for Charleston Southern this season to receive conference recognition, as
Maya Robinson won Freshman of the Week back in December. She becomes the first Charleston Southern women's basketball player to win at least a share of Big South Player of the Week since
Sharita Godfrey won it in Dec. of 2020.
The Buccaneers have their sights set on the Big South tournament, where they will be taking on No. 5 Presbyterian at 2 PM on Thursday, Mar. 7 at the Qubein Center in High Point, N.C.
